Yesterday me and a friend made a really yummy and moist chcolate cake.
We really enjoyed it so I thought I would share the recipe with you!!
- 60g of softened butter or margarine
- 2tbsp of cocoa powder
- 150g (1 cup) of self-raising flour
- 220g (1 cup) of caster sugar
- 125ml (1/2 cup) of milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2tsp of vanilla essence
Pre-heat the oven to 170*(Celsius) fan-forced.
Grease and flour a cake tin. I used a 17x19cm rectangular tin.
Sift the flour and cocoa if you want to, I didn’t but the cake was still smooth and fluffy.
Place all the ingredients into a bowl and beat until smooth. If you’re worried about flour going everywhere you can first beat the flour, butter and sugar and then add the other ingredients.
Pour the mix into the prepared cake tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. The cooking time could vary for your oven.
Once the cake is cooked properly, take it out of the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes, you can than transfer it to a wire wrack.
You can then ice with chocolate icing if you wish.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you try the recipe make sure to tell me how it went by leaving a comment:)
Until the next post,
