Book Review – Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone

For those of you that don’t know Harry Potter is a seven book series written by J.K Rowling. The books are magical and mystifying, with some fantasy violence in the later books. Today I am going to give you my opinion on Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.

In my opinion Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is one of the best books in the world. The Philosphers Stone is all about a boy named Harry who is a wizard. Harry has been famous since he was a baby. He survived one of the three unforgivable curses: the killing curse. He is the first person in wizard and witch history to have survived it. He goes to Hogwarts; a magical school for young witches and wizards. At Hogwarts you begin school at age eleven and finish at age 17.

Right so now onto the review. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is a great book for children in early year four. However if you are a mature reader and have read books like this before than like me you may want to start reading it in year three. I personally loved Harry Potter! The way J.K Rowling wrote it makes you feel like you are there with Harry and his two best friends.

This book is a great read for people who like fantasy and magic. I think it is also great for introducing longer and harder books. I give this book five out of five stars!
